It's the little things...

This morning at about 2:00am I walked out onto my driveway and noticed something on the roof of Datsun 280ZX. It was a large slug, slowly moving from front to back. I shined my LED flashlight on it and witnessed it's pneumostome opening and closing as it drew air in and out. I was able to shine my light completely through the tiny opening, and see the roof on the other side. It was a surreal moment. I stood there thinking that I'm looking right through the insides of a creature that's been around on planet Earth for about 497 million years. It's moments like these that help put daily struggles in perspective. If these mostly helpless creatures can survive and evolve over 1/2 a billion years on this planet, only to someday rise up and leave the safety of the soil to creep up and over my 1982 Datsun, SURELY the universe will show me the courtesy of allowing me to FIX said 1982 Datsun before my brief stint on this planet is up. Or it could simply be a evolutionary LULZS moment, made only to chap my ass. Time will tell my friends...time will tell.
